This week was full of excitement! The kids began earning Orange Tiger tickets for following expectations in the hallway. Officer Stassi (Carson's dad), Officer Omar, and Officer Pasta visited the WLE kindergartners to talk about safety and following rules in the community. I can wait to see what the week ahead has in store for us!

This week we learned that numbers can be represented in different ways. They used craft sticks, pom poms, stickers, candies, and other materials to show a collection of numbers. In the picture above, they are working really hard to build the number 5 in as many ways as they can with interlocking cubes. They were then able to record their ideas in writing.
The kindergartners are working so hard to become readers. They have learned that readers whisper to themselves, use their fingers to walk across the page to tell all the details that they see, and try to look for words that they already know.
You can really see how serious they take their jobs as learners.
During the coming week, your child will begin bringing home math bags, traveling animal bags, and class books. Ever other week, your child will receive one of the above items. It will go home on Monday, please return it by Friday. All activities are intended to be done as a family. Thank you for supporting your child!
